Airspace Change

Beware! Aurora State (UAO) Airport (Aurora, OR) airspace has been designated as Class D airspace. This change has led to a marked increase in pilot deviations identified by the FAA. Before beginning a flight into this airspace please become familiar with current aeronautical publications

Medical Reform

The House this week passed third-class medical reforms as part of an extension deal with Senate negotiators to keep the Federal Aviation Administration running through the September 2017.

Tip 1
Airspace and Communications (KVUO)

- Arrival patterns are on the North side of the field at or below 1100 feet
- Check weather on the ASOS at 135.125
- Stay at or below 700' over or on the extended centerline of the runway to avoid aircraft and turbulence from PDX
- Contact Pearson Advisory on 119.0 at least 5 miles out
- After initial contact with Pearson Advisory, continue reporting position and intentions on 119.0
Note: IFR pilots request clearance and IFR release from 119.0
